Ten Thousand Places

Robert Grant's team, along with other invited guests and friends, use this blog as a book discussion. We're currently reading Eugene Peterson's book "Christ Plays in Ten Thousand Places."

Maybe a beautiful month!

I want to continue making this space available for folks to check in, provide updates and news, and generally help us keep in touch with each other.

Sue and I are taking a week apart to reflect on the future. That's about it from the Rockies. Does not seem like much...but big for us.

What, togeher with your wife of 40 or so years, in the Rockies, seekign God--doesn't sound like much! Sounds wonderful, productive, fruitful, renewing--may it be all that and more!

Kath and I are back from watching both our girls graduate from their graduate programs--great weekend! We got a full load of pomp and circumstance! Amy flew off this AM for Hawaii (Maui!!) for 2 weeks leave with Ben--pray he makes all his connections and gets there on time!

Keep us in your prayers as I fly back to Kenya for several very busy weeks of teaching. Judy will split up her time betwwen CR and the USA. Our daughter is moving into her (our) new house while I'm gone. Judy will spend some time helping her get settled in.
I'll be all over western Kenya.

Well, Jamie and LeRoy/Judy, thanks for your news and let me know the address of your favorite charities, and $25 will swiftly wing its way there!

I'm nervously and excitedly looking forward to taking my beloved bride of 30 years out for anniversary tomorrow and presenting her with what I hope is nice jewelry! Pete and his fiance Amelia are hanging with us this afternoon, after attending a weekend retreat for engaged couples that they found very helpful. Kath leaves next Sunday for NC for the week leading up to Katie's wedding on June 2.

LeRoy, we will PRAY!
Judy and I are home from our trip to Redding, CA. We thoroughly surprised Erin as we knocked on the door having talked to her just minutes before. She seemed as though she was going to faint. What a great graduation event Sunday night! So proud of her.
We are tired. We went to a pastor's retreat earlier, then I went to a men's retreat, then off to see Erin. It's been a whirlwind!
Please pray as we are looking for property for our church. Interesting, since we have so little money.
I think we men enjoy theological debate, thus hard to create other areas of interest.
Blessings to all....John

Hey Brian. I forgot to thank you for the CD from your worship team. I've listened to it twice. It is very interesting...kind of retro to the late 60s, early 70s. Some of the songs had a "Jesus Christ, Superstar" quality to them....a very sincere and humble presentation of heartfelt and personal theology. I wonder what others thought about it.

John, I appreciate your energy and faithfulness! And thanks for staying in touch--and congratulations to Erin! I'm hoping that this blog could serve the staying-in-touch dimension; we've moved the theological arguments over to the "covenant thinklings" blog.

LeRoy and Judy, happy trails to you as you spend a season "all over the map"--please send field reports if/when possible.

Kath and I are joyfully gearing up for Katie's wedding next Saturday in NC!
